Privacy Policy

The short version: your budget never leaves your computer or your server, and we never see it. We receive only what's needed to sell you a licence, check it, offer updates and, if you agree, learn about crashes. We don't sell data, show ads or track you across sites.
This policy covers ShowMeTheMoney (the "Software") and this website, both provided by OhBrer LLC ("we", "us").
Your financial data
Accounts, transactions, envelopes, budgets, statements you import, receipts and everything else you put in the Software are stored only on your computer or the server you run. We do not receive, store or have access to them. If you connect a bank through SimpleFIN, the Software talks to SimpleFIN directly; we're not involved.
What we receive, and why

Who else handles it
We use a small number of service providers, each only for the purpose above: Stripe (payments and tax), our web host (this website and downloads), Umami (counting website visits, without cookies), our email provider (sending keys and replies). We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Licence and purchase records are kept while your licence exists and as long as tax and accounting law requires afterwards. Licence check records are deleted after 2 years. Our permanent record of licence changes contains no email addresses. Crash reports are deleted when they're no longer needed to fix the problem. Website visit counts are kept for 6 months.
Your choices and rights
- Crash and bug reporting is off until you agree, and can be turned off in Settings at any time.
- You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing privacy@ohbrer.com. Deleting your purchase records ends your licence, and some records must be kept by law.
- Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Union), you may have further rights; we honour them, and you can contact us about them at the same address.
Security
Everything the Software sends us travels encrypted. Licence results are signed so they can't be forged. Email addresses are stored in one-way form wherever we only need to recognise them, not read them.
Children
The Software and this site are not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and, for material changes, tell subscribers by email before it applies.
